Magic and mysticism in Inca-style weddings at Sumaq
Attracted by the magic and energy surrounding one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, an increasing number of high-end tourists are interested in holding Inca-style weddings at Machu Picchu (Cusco).
Arac Masin, or Andean wedding, is the name of the symbolic ceremony of love for single couples or married couples wishing to renew their vows in a setting in the midst of nature and in the presence of friends and relatives at Sumaq.
The Andean wedding ceremony is performed by an Andean priest who, with prayers, songs and a coca-leaf reading, seals this divine event in union with the elements of Andean beliefs, such as the land, mountains and stars.

Festivities in June in relation with the third anniversary of the naming of Machu Picchu as a Wonder of the World
July 01 to 7 was a week of celebrations in the town of Machu Picchu (formerly known as Aguas Calientes) to commemorate the third anniversary of the archaeological site as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
As part of this celebration, there was a folk dancing presentation, live Andean music and an audiovisual presentation on the naming of Machu Picchu as a Wonder of the World for the purpose of reliving the unforgettable moments experienced at the site when it received the third highest number of votes as one of the New Wonders of the World.
Machu Picchu restaurants and hotels joined in the celebration, offering visitors free typical Peruvian dishes at a culinary festival and a coca sour tasting, as well as a large number of gifts, many of which were handicrafts made by local artisans. A traditional payment to Pachamama, or mother earth, was held to close the celebration.
